Dad's successful career as both an attorney and a legal recruiter is the result of his abilility to think critically; identify, analyze and solve problems; as well as build and maintain relationships. He has demonstrated success in the government (he served as general counsel for the Department of Homeland Security), as well as private practice and is able to quickly adapt to different environments. Some of Dad’s accomplishments and experience include:

 

-Represented nation-wide employer of over 20,000 employees on employment law    

 matters, union grievances and employee initiated mediations.

-Successfully defended numerous employment complaints before the EEOC, NLRB  

  and MSPB on claims including sexual harassment, discrimination based on race,  

  gender and disability, improper hiring practices and constructive discharge. (inc.

  “initiation through appeal?)

-Advised management and HR department on all labor and employment matters

  including labor relations, issuance of terminations, suspensions and letters of

  reprimand, ethics issues and employment policy implementation. 

-Taught training courses to Customs Officers nationwide on topics such as personal

  search policies and laws, and firearms policies. 

-Managed and hired legal interns; coordinated their assignments to assure they had a

  diverse and manageable caseload.

-Two years of experience as an agency recruiter, identifying and placing

  candidates for attorney positions in law firms and in-house with corporations, hedge

  funds, asset management groups and major investment banks. 

-Pre-screened candidates for clients through in-person interviews.

-Worked with clients’ human resources and internal recruiters to ensure efficient

  processing of candidates.

-Trained mediator: New York State Unified Court System’s mediation training
